Domestic workers most hit by AIDS PDF Print E-mail
In Botswana, the 2005 HIV sentinel survey that was conducted among pregnant women by type of occupation has revealed that domestic workers have the highest infection rate. Bamby Mothuba, assistant research officer at the National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA), said domestic workers have the highest percentage because they were not well informed about HIV/AIDS. Also, they have no say or control in their sexual relationships.
