Sub-Saharan Africa contains only 10 percent of the world's population, but is home to 60 percent of all people living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. And, among young people aged 15 to 24 years, an estimated 4.6 percent of women and 1.7 percent of men are living with HIV this year.
